基本规则
“How old” 是一个用来询问年龄的疑问词组，后面接 be 动词（is / are），选择哪一个取决于主语的单复数：
- 主语是 单数（如 he, she, it, Tom, my brother）→ 用 is
- 主语是 复数（如 they, we, the children）→ 用 are

常见误区
很多初学者会混淆 “you” 的用法。虽然 “you” 可以指一个人，但在英语语法中，you 永远搭配 are，所以永远说：
