Biography
Christian Fuchs (born April 7, 1986) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays primarily as a left-back. Known for his leadership, consistency, and commitment both on and off the pitch, Fuchs has enjoyed a distinguished career across Europe.
Club Career
Fuchs began his professional career in Austria with SV Mattersburg before moving to VfL Bochum in Germany. He gained prominence during his time at FC Schalke 04 (2011–2015), where he became a key player in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League.
In 2015, he joined Leicester City in the English Premier League. During his debut season, he played a vital role in one of football’s greatest underdog stories—Leicester City’s historic Premier League title win in 2015–16.
After leaving Leicester in 2021, Fuchs continued playing in the United States with Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer, where he also contributed to building the club’s foundation as one of its early signings.
International Career
Fuchs earned over 70 caps for the Austria national team between 2006 and 2021. He served as captain for several years and represented Austria at UEFA Euro 2016 and UEFA Euro 2020.
