Christian Laettner is widely regarded as one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. He played for Duke University from 1988 to 1992 under coach Mike Krzyzewski and led the Blue Devils to two consecutive NCAA championships in 1991 and 1992.
Laettner is perhaps best known for his legendary buzzer-beating turnaround jumper in the 1992 NCAA East Regional Final against the University of Kentucky—a moment often called "The Shot." He remains the only player to start in four consecutive Final Fours and finish his college career undefeated in NCAA tournament games (21–0).
After college, Laettner was selected third overall in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He enjoyed a 13-year professional career in the NBA, playing for several teams including the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics.
Beyond his on-court achievements, Laettner is remembered for his intense competitiveness, clutch performances, and leadership—qualities that continue to inspire basketball fans and players alike.
