instead 搭配用法详解

什么是 instead？

instead 是一个副词，表示“代替”、“反而”或“却”，常用于表达替代关系。

常见搭配

1. instead of + 名词/代词/动名词

这是最常用的结构，表示“而不是……”。

• She drank tea instead of coffee.
• He walked to work instead of driving.
• We should use cloth bags instead of plastic ones.

2. instead（单独使用）

通常放在句尾，表示“反而做了另一件事”。

• I didn’t go to the party. I stayed home instead.
• He didn’t apologize. He left the room instead.

3. instead 放在句首（较少见，需注意语气）

此时常带有对比意味，后接完整句子。

• Instead, she decided to study abroad.
• Instead, they canceled the trip.

注意事项

• instead of 后面不能直接跟完整句子（主语+谓语），如错误示例：instead of he went...。正确应为：instead of going... 或改用 rather than。
• instead 和 instead of 不可混用。前者是副词，后者是介词短语。
